It was some normal day to me. I didn’t even expect I’d be celebrating this festival. I was dragged and called several times on my phone to be with my friend, who visited my town from her place where she studied.
I never get this. On festivals. Getting calls. Someone wanting so hard to be with me. But this year, it was an unexpected miracle. She even wanted me to be with my nemesis for her. But I denied. Because it gets weird and awkward. Yet, she worked hard to get to me. I lived bit far away from where she was celebrating with her. The most grateful thing was…she visited me, forced me to get my vehicle and we went places.
She couldn’t resist coloring me. So she bought new color: Orange. And colored me while I was driving, ’cause you know… It was important for her.
Normally, I go to two places at this time. My old house or my cousins’ place. I wasn’t visiting any, since last year during Holi. The reason is, I got lazier and it was more effort to climb down stairs and I wasn’t sure if my friends of my old house were going to play and it was two kilometers and crossing railway lines to reach my cousins.
I also felt guilt later, at those times of not visiting them. This year, I passed through their home with my friend and they were already done at midday.
These days, my head is pretty busy with completing my Microbiology Practical Journal from College and I fault them alongwith my friends for late delays. They don’t ever complete their course on time and finish it at the last moment. And because of that burden, I’m having a bit hard time to manage things.
I kinda wished, I had many other colors on my face but Orange was all we had, and somehow that was everything! Shoutout to you, Dhanashree! Thank you for making my Holi more memorable!
